Dice Game Ideas??? and Giveaway!

I am wanting to put together a fun packet of all sorts of math games that you can play with dice.  I have a recent obsession with the double dice (the dice INSIDE the dice).  I have quite a few ideas but thought I would open it up to the blogging world and see what other ideas you might have!

So here's the deal--if you
comment here and share your dice game idea
AND
follow my blog!
...when I finish up the packet I'll send it to you for FREE! :)  Just be sure to leave your email in your comment with the idea!  I'm hoping to finish it up in the next few weeks.

Let the sharing begin!

  1. One of the dice games that my students play and love is Race around the Hundreds chart. You can have students in groups of 3 to 5 and let them take turns rolling two dice (or a double dice). THen, they have to add the sum and color in that many spaces on their Hundreds chart. First one to 100 wins! :)

  2. WE roll dice for EVERYTHING. I like to use them when we are doing fact families. I like to use them for whole group lessons. I use the big foam dice (from Dollar Tree) and we roll for place value (example-blue die is tens place, white die is ones place). We use dice for sequence at the beginning of the year. Students will roll a die, and then write the number that comes before and after. I have several other ideas on my blog if you want some more! :)

  3. I use race to 100 using a hundred's chart. I also have use dice for addition and subtraction problems. Right now in my room I have a couple of place value stations that are using dice. The kiddos first roll the dice once and write the number then they roll the dice again and write the number. The put the number together and determine what number is in the tens place and ones place. You can use three dice for ones, tens, and hundreds place.

I also use the dice to play bump games

hOPE THIS helps and you can understand it

Thanks for offering the freebies. I have some free dice games on my blog and I would love for you to visit my blog and follow me too

  5. I have my students roll the dice twice, write down each number they roll and then add them together. I also have them draw the number of dots on each dice so they can check their addition by adding up the dots.

  6. My students roll the dice then write the number, and the one that comes before and after. It’s an easy game that can be modified.
Love your blog! I have been neglecting mine lol!

  8. I pair up my students. They each get 2 dice that are 2 different colors. They roll both dice and see who can make the largest place value number. I have a paper they fill out with __>__
